New Israeli measure to prevent return to Gaza city
Avichay Adraee, spokesperson for the Israeli military, announced today (Wednesday) that starting at 12:00 PM, the “Al-Rashid” road parallel to the coast has been closed for vehicles traveling from the south toward Gaza City.
According to Samaa News Agency, he added that travel to the south will remain possible and that exit from the city will not be restricted.
In this regard, the Gaza Government Information Office stated that Al-Rashid Street is one of the vital arteries on which civilians rely to travel between the governorates of the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Government Information Office emphasized that the occupiers’ claims that travel southward is allowed without inspection are misleading excuses.
The office added: “We hold the occupiers and the U.S. government legally and morally responsible for the consequences of closing Al-Rashid Street.”
The Hebrew newspaper Maariv also reported that currently five brigades of the Israeli army are deployed across the Gaza Strip.
