Explosion and shooting incident in Munich
According to Reuters, one body was discovered at the scene, and another individual is being treated for gunshot wounds. Authorities cordoned off Lerchenauer Strasse, but later announced that there was “no danger to the public.”
The Washington Post reported that the incident coincided with a bomb threat targeting Munich’s Oktoberfest. The festival grounds were temporarily closed as precautionary checks were carried out. It is not yet clear whether the explosion in the residential area and the bomb threat against Oktoberfest are directly connected.

Local police and emergency services remain on high alert. Investigations are ongoing into whether the blast was caused by an improvised device, domestic gas, or another source.
This latest incident follows heightened security concerns in Munich in recent months. A previous case in September involved a police shootout near the Israeli Consulate, highlighting ongoing security sensitivities in the city.
