Israel arrests multiple suspects over alleged Iranian espionage
The Jerusalem Post reported that Israel’s internal security service (Shin Bet) and the Israeli police identified the suspects as “Maor Kringle” and “Tal Amram.”
Kringle was initially detained in August during an investigation in which he was accused of photographing military bases and public sites under Iranian guidance.
The media also claims that he attempted to continue his missions during Israel’s imposed war against Iran.
According to the report, both suspects received cryptocurrency payments for their activities and tried to recruit others for similar operations.
Prosecutors filed charges against them on Tuesday, with formal indictments expected to be issued soon.
Meanwhile, Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that an Israeli soldier serving as a reserve member was also arrested for allegedly conducting security-related activities in favor of Iran.
According to this report, the reserve soldier is suspected of communicating with Iranian intelligence operatives and photographing military sites.
