Gaza death toll surpasses 66,000
According to the Ministry’s daily report, in the last 24 hours, 79 Palestinians were killed — including two whose bodies were recovered from under the rubble — and 379 others were injured and transferred to hospitals across the Strip.
The Palestinian news agency Shehab reported that the Ministry emphasized that a large number of victims remain trapped under rubble or in the streets, and rescue and civil defense teams have so far been unable to reach them.
With the new figures included, the total number of casualties from Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023, has reached 66,005 deaths and 168,162 injuries.
The Ministry further noted that since March 18, 2025 — when the Israeli occupiers violated the ceasefire — 13,137 Palestinians have been killed and 56,121 injured.
Regarding casualties in the so-called “breadline” category (those waiting for food or humanitarian aid), 6 were killed and 66 injured in the past 24 hours. The total deaths in this category transferred to hospitals now stands at 2,566, with more than 18,769 injured.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health and hospitals have warned that deaths from hunger and malnutrition continue, with most victims being children, while severe shortages of food and medicine are exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
