Over 400 settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque
An official from the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said on Monday that 298 extremist settlers stormed the mosque in the morning, while another 120 entered after the noon prayer.
He stressed that the raids were carried out under the protection of Israeli police through the Mughrabi Gate.
Eyewitnesses said the settlers performed Talmudic rituals and engaged in provocative acts.
The settlers began their celebrations for the Hebrew New Year today, which will culminate on Tuesday.
Yesterday as well, dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Since Itamar Ben-Gvir assumed office as Israel’s Minister of National Security in late 2022, violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque have escalated.
Palestinians emphasize that these raids aim to Judaize East Jerusalem—including Al-Aqsa Mosque—and erase its Arab and Islamic identity.
