Statement of the Supreme National Security Council: Cooperation with the IAEA will Be suspended
Today, the Supreme National Security Council, presided over by the President, convened to discuss the regional situation and the provocations of the Zionist regime. The meeting reaffirmed that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the current circumstances is to enhance cooperation aimed at creating peace and stability in the region.
The Council also examined international measures related to military operations and sanctions, including what it described as the ill-considered actions of three European countries regarding Iran’s nuclear issue. It stressed that, despite the Foreign Ministry’s efforts and initiatives, the recent steps taken by these European states have practically resulted in the suspension of cooperation with the IAEA.
The Foreign Ministry was also tasked with continuing its consultations within the framework of the Supreme National Security Council’s decisions in order to safeguard the country’s national interests.
In addition, the Council expressed its appreciation for the judiciary’s recent action to grant pardons to prisoners, describing it as a measure that strengthens national solidarity.
