The United States still lives under the illusion of a unipolar system
In an interview with Mizan, Al-Shaer stated: “The escalation of tensions in the international system — from the bombing of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure to the imposition of secondary sanctions on importers of Russian oil such as India and China — are all manifestations of the same illusion that U.S. foreign policy has yet to abandon. Washington has still failed to recognize the undeniable reality that history cannot be stopped, and that the world is inevitably becoming multipolar. This confirms the chronic and incurable disease from which U.S. foreign policy continues to suffer.”
The Moscow-based analyst went on to add: “Western countries, led by the United States, hold a distorted perception of the international system. They imagine that by resorting to tools such as war, sanctions, and pressure on other nations, they can reclaim their lost dominance. But this assumption is false.”
