Israel’s aggression sparks blowback: Kicked out of Dubai airshow
Amid rising protests in the Persian Gulf over Israel’s assault on Gaza and its unprecedented airstrike on Qatar earlier this week, Israeli weapons manufacturers have been excluded from the upcoming Dubai Airshow, one of the world’s premier aerospace events.
According to Bloomberg, citing a senior official who remained anonymous, the organizers of the Dubai Airshow—scheduled for November—sent letters to several Israeli companies, informing them they would not be allowed to participate this year.
Israel’s Tuesday strike on Doha, which targeted Hamas’s political leadership, failed to assassinate key resistance figures. However, the bombing left several people dead. Qatar, which had been mediating another ceasefire effort in Gaza, strongly condemned the attack.
The official said the letter cited “deficiencies in the companies’ professional qualifications,” and was dated September 9, the same day the attack on Doha took place. But the organizers had already informally signaled that they intended to bar Israel from the event. Israeli media had previously reported on this development.
Earlier, the UK barred Israeli officials from its largest defense trade show this week over Israel’s actions in Gaza. In June, French authorities also blocked several Israeli weapons manufacturers from attending the Paris Air Show.
