U.S. issues visa for al-Julani
According to the sources, the U.S. granted a visa to Ahmad al-Sharaa (al-Julani), the leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and head of the Syrian Interim Government, allowing him to travel to New York between September 21 and 25 to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to al-Ahed report, the sources also confirmed that Ahmad al-Sharaa is scheduled to deliver a speech on September 24.
During this trip, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani and Syria’s envoy to the United Nations, Ibrahim al-Albi, will accompany Ahmad al-Sharaa.
The sources further mentioned the possibility of a meeting between Ahmad al-Sharaa and U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly session.
In addition, plans have been made for Ahmad al-Sharaa, alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to visit the “Turkish House” building in New York, amid Saudi and Turkish diplomatic efforts to support Syria and to pressure for halting the aggressions of the occupiers.
