Another Israeli soldier commits suicide
The Hebrew-language news outlet Walla reported that rescue teams, upon arrival at the scene, confirmed the soldier’s death.
The incident occurred this morning (Tuesday). The deceased was a 31-year-old reserve soldier who reportedly took his own life in his apartment, just one day after his wedding.
Emergency and security forces announced that further investigations into the cause of death are underway.
Walla also reported that last month, the body of another Israeli soldier was found in northern Israel (occupied Palestine), and the army later confirmed that he, too, had died by suicide.
The outlet emphasized that with the rising phenomenon of suicide among Israeli soldiers—both active duty and reserve—many experts are calling on research centers and Knesset representatives to address the issue.
One research center stated that psychological problems stemming from trauma and severe mental distress have affected a large number of Israeli soldiers.
