New details on Trump’s plan to end the Gaza war
Yedioth Ahronoth, quoting some Israeli political sources, revealed that the plan presented by the U.S. President contains key provisions aimed at a complete cessation of the Gaza conflict and the initiation of negotiations for a final agreement.
According to the report, one of the main pillars of Trump’s plan is a commitment from both sides not to resume fighting for the duration of the talks to end the war.
Yedioth also wrote that if the plan is accepted, the Israeli army would be required to refrain from remaining in its current positions in Gaza and withdraw part of its forces.
The sources cited by Yedioth Ahronoth added that, within Israeli circles, there is an expectation that Hamas will demand the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for the complete withdrawal of occupying forces from Gaza.
Hebrew media on Sunday unveiled Trump’s new proposal to Hamas.
In response, Hamas issued a statement saying it has received the U.S. proposal to halt the Gaza war and release Israeli prisoners, and that it is ready to negotiate on the matter.
