Escalation of Zionist war on Gaza by targeting residential towers
The Mushtahi residential tower was hit with three missiles after the minister’s warning and was leveled to the ground.
Israel’s Channel 12 TV, quoting a security source, confirmed that the Israeli Air Force has begun a gradual campaign to demolish buildings in Gaza City.
After bombing the Mushtahi Tower, the Israeli army claimed that Hamas had an underground facility beneath the building.
The occupation army added that in the coming days, several buildings in Gaza City—particularly multi-story towers—will be targeted.
However, the Mushtahi Tower’s management rejected Israel’s claims, stressing that since the tower was hit last year, only displaced civilians have been allowed to enter under strict monitoring.
Israeli War Minister Israel Katz warned residents to evacuate another multi-story building in Gaza City, claiming that attacks on Gaza would “gradually” intensify.
He had previously stated that the release of Israeli captives and the disarmament of Hamas were Israel’s conditions for ending the war in Gaza.
Katz, who after 700 days of genocide in Gaza has yet to achieve his stated goals, threatened the people of Gaza with destruction, saying: “The first evacuation notice has been issued for a multi-story building in Gaza City before it is targeted.”
The minister, who has been overseeing nearly two years of mass killings in Gaza, warned that the Israeli army would “open the gates of hell” on Gaza.
Israel launched its war on Gaza under the pretext of eliminating Hamas and freeing Israeli captives. To date, more than 63,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed, nearly 161,000 injured, and according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the bodies of many victims remain under the rubble, inaccessible.
Katz reiterated that multi-story buildings will be given a first evacuation warning before being destroyed.
According to Gaza’s Civil Defense, most of Gaza’s buildings have already been destroyed and reduced to rubble. Israeli forces deliberately demolish Palestinian homes using explosive charges.
While the Palestinian resistance has repeatedly insisted on maintaining its weapons and rejected Israel’s illegitimate demands, the Israeli war minister has continued to stress conditions such as the disarmament of Hamas.
An Israeli Army Radio correspondent, commenting on Katz’s statements about striking multi-story buildings in Gaza City, said: “Katz’s announcement about starting attacks on tall buildings has been made hundreds of times before by the army. There is nothing new in his remarks.”
Izzat al-Rishq, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, denounced Israel’s targeting of residential towers in Gaza City, stressing: “The enemy’s attempts to justify targeting residential towers and destroying Gaza City with false claims of Hamas use are nothing but flimsy excuses and blatant lies—meant to cover up its heinous crimes against defenseless civilians and continue its policy of genocide and the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip.”
