Israeli captive: Netanyahu has taken us hostage, not Hamas
The footage shows “Guy Dalal,” an Israeli captive, inside a vehicle driving through the rubble of destroyed homes in Gaza City, which has been under heavy Israeli bombardment.
The video depicts two Israeli prisoners held by Hamas, one of whom is seen traveling in a vehicle through Gaza City. Dalal states in the clip that the video was filmed last Thursday.
The footage also shows the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in western Gaza City, identifying the filming location. Another Israeli hostage appears in the video, meeting with Dalal in Gaza City.
According to Anadolu Agency, Guy Dalal said: “We thought we were hostages of Hamas, but the truth is we are hostages of Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and Smotrich (Israel’s Prime Minister, National Security Minister, and Finance Minister).”
The prisoner stated that despite Israel’s ongoing military assault, he remains in Gaza City and holds Netanyahu’s cabinet responsible for his life—accusing it of “not caring about the lives of soldiers and captives.”
Dalal added: “I am terrified of the idea of the army attacking Gaza. It means we will die here.”
He urged Israelis to “protest forcefully, create chaos, and cause problems for the government” in order to secure the captives’ release and halt the war.
Dalal went on to say: “Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir, and Smotrich are always lying. They do not want us to return.”
The Israeli captive concluded: “We want all of this to end and to go back to our families.”
Dalal had also appeared in a video released by Hamas in February, where he was seen during the handover of several Israeli captives in central Gaza. At the time, he called for urgent action to secure his release before the ceasefire collapsed and Israel resumed its war on the Gaza Strip.
It is reported that 48 captives are currently being held in Gaza, with Israel believing that 20 of them are still alive. Efforts by mediators to reach a ceasefire and a prisoner-exchange deal between Hamas and Israel have so far stalled.
