Student strikes spread in Israel amid anger over captives in Gaza
According to Channel 13 of the Zionist regime’s television, dozens of Israeli students this morning (Sunday) blocked the northbound lanes of the Ayalon Highway near the Rokach interchange in Tel Aviv, demanding that Zionist officials sign an agreement to end the war and secure the release of Israeli captives.
The students burned their school desks in the street, declaring that as long as the war continues and the captives remain in detention, their strike will go on, schools will remain closed, and the academic year will not be allowed to begin.
The protesting students said: “We are not willing to start the school year while Netanyahu’s cabinet ignores the lives of the captives in Gaza and even obstructs negotiations for a deal with Hamas.”
According to them, Netanyahu’s cabinet has shown no commitment toward its own soldiers, which has deepened Israelis’ mistrust of the political establishment.
At the same time, families of Israeli captives also announced that in the coming hours they will demonstrate outside the cabinet meeting venue at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, demanding that the proposed deal be put on the cabinet’s agenda.
They stressed that the cabinet, contrary to the will of the Israeli people—who demand an end to the war and the return of the captives—has chosen to continue a pointless and endless war, sacrificing soldiers in the process.
They also called on other Zionists to take to the streets in protest against Netanyahu’s policies and to reaffirm their stance.
