Nasser Qandil in interview with Mizan:
Opponents of the resistance are waiting for Israel’s generosity
The Lebanese politician and analyst emphasized that those in Lebanon who support the disarmament of the Resistance are looking to Israel for generosity—a generosity that will never come.
Mizan -
Nasser Qandil told Mizan: "The important question for supporters of disarming the Resistance is: if this (disarmament) happens, and Israel does not withdraw from Lebanese territory in return, what will happen? Fundamentally, what guarantee exists that Israel would cease its hostility toward Lebanon in exchange for disarming the Resistance? These are questions that some Lebanese government officials cannot answer. They cannot even provide any guarantee. They are waiting for generosity from a regime that has no basis for it!"
The editor of the Lebanese publication Al-Binaa added: "Turning begging to the U.S. and Israel into Lebanon’s national security strategy is unacceptable to any sound mind and bears no relation to reality."
