Deadly shooting in Brooklyn Jewish neighborhood
According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), multiple gunmen entered the restaurant around 3:30 a.m. and opened fire indiscriminately. Police recovered 36 shell casings from the scene, indicating the severity of the attack. The suspects fled immediately, and authorities have confirmed that at least two individuals are believed to be involved. Investigations are ongoing, and the NYPD has asked anyone with information to come forward.
The victims include three men aged 27, 35, and an unidentified adult. Eight others—five men and three women, aged 27 to 61—were rushed to nearby hospitals with injuries, though the condition of some remains unclear. Emergency responders described the scene as chaotic, with panicked diners fleeing while gunfire continued.
This shooting comes amid growing concerns about public safety in New York City. Just last week, a separate shooting in Times Square left three people injured. Authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the Crown Heights attack, and security officials continue to assess potential links to previous incidents.
Local community leaders condemned the violence, emphasizing the need for increased security around public venues and religious institutions. Mayor’s office representatives have promised full support to the NYPD and pledged resources to assist victims and their families.
