‘I Oppose Genocide’: Protesters flood capitals worldwide in solidarity with Gaza
While the crimes of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip began nearly two years ago and continue to this day, many countries have witnessed large-scale protests against the genocide.
PBS reported that international condemnation is mounting over the Zionist regime’s decision to militarily occupy Gaza City.

Large-scale protests in the UK
London, the capital of the United Kingdom, witnessed massive demonstrations, with organizers estimating participation at 800,000 people.
According to activists, London police arrested more than 466 individuals who were protesting the UK’s decision to ban the activities of the Palestinian Action group. This marks the largest mass arrest ever in a protest in the UK capital.
The arrests took place after hundreds gathered in London’s Parliament Square on Saturday, August 9, holding placards reading: “I oppose genocide. I support Palestinian Action” and condemning the Zionist regime’s war against Gaza.
Protests in Turkey
Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in one of Istanbul’s squares on Saturday evening after the Maghrib prayer to express opposition to the Zionist regime’s ongoing genocide and starvation policies in Gaza.
The protest, involving NGOs and many ordinary citizens, continued with a march toward the historic Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Organizers called on the international community to take urgent action to end the suffering of the people of Gaza.
Widespread opposition to genocide in Germany
In the German city of Essen, protesters rallied against the Zionist regime’s actions in Gaza.
They condemned the starvation policy and the regime’s plan to completely occupy the area.
Sweden and Netherlands
Meanwhile, hundreds in Stockholm, Sweden’s capital, protested the Zionist regime’s plans to occupy Gaza.

Gathering in the Odenplan area, demonstrators held placards condemning the regime’s attacks and the US support for it, before marching to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In Amsterdam, the Netherlands’ capital, large crowds also took to the streets to protest the plan and Western support for the Zionist regime.
The protests called for the immediate and unrestricted delivery of aid to Gaza.
Spain and Switzerland
Several pro-Palestinian rallies took place in Spain, including in Madrid, in protest against the Zionist regime’s attacks and the starvation in Gaza.
Carrying Palestinian flags, demonstrators in Madrid chanted for an end to the genocide.

Some banged pots and pans in protest against the starvation imposed on the besieged territory.
In Geneva, Switzerland, thousands gathered at Parc des Bastions to denounce forced starvation and deaths caused by the Zionist blockade of Gaza.
Chanting in English, French, and Arabic, the crowd staged a sit-in to protest the regime’s attacks.
Demonstrators, waving Palestinian flags, also banged pots and pans to raise awareness about starvation in Gaza.
The participants demanded an end to international support for the Zionist regime’s oppression of the Palestinian people.
