Start of the return process of inmates to Evin Prison less than a month and a half after the brutal aggression of the Zionist Regime
On Monday, June 22, 2025, in a blatant crime and a violation of international law, the Zionist regime struck Evin Prison with projectiles.
Following this criminal attack, with the presence of all forces and the mobilization of resources, the situation in the prison was brought under control.
Immediately after this brutal assault on Evin Prison, judicial authorities took the necessary measures to safeguard the health and security of the inmates. Urgent steps were taken to establish contact between prisoners and their families to ease concerns, and the inmates were transferred to the Greater Tehran Prison.
The day after the incident, Mohseni Ejei visited one of Tehran’s hospitals to meet with those injured in the Zionist regime’s crimes against Evin Prison, issuing necessary orders for their treatment and for addressing the needs of the inmates.
The Head of the Judiciary also emphasized that relevant authorities, including the First Deputy of the Judiciary and the Head of the Prisons Organization, should take the necessary steps to rapidly rebuild the damaged sections of Evin Prison and create the conditions for the swift return of the transferred prisoners to the facility.
Today, Friday, August 8, thanks to the round-the-clock and dedicated efforts of the Prisons Organization, the endeavors of the Judiciary’s Protection and Intelligence Center, and the oversight of the High Council for Human Rights, in less than a month and a half, the rubble of Evin has been cleared and new accommodations for the inmates have been prepared.
