Hezbollah: The Lebanese government has made a grave mistake
In a statement issued today, Wednesday, Hezbollah said that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam made a serious error in adopting the decision to monopolize arms, as this move serves the interests of the Israeli enemy and leaves Lebanon without any deterrent against it.
The Lebanese Islamic Resistance stressed that the government’s decision is part of a strategy of surrender and constitutes a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereign principles and foundations.
Hezbollah further stated that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s decision weakens Lebanon’s sovereignty and gives Israel free rein to interfere in the country’s security, geography, politics, and future existence.
The statement added: “We, the Lebanese Islamic Resistance, will treat the government’s decision as if it does not exist.”
It continued: “We are ready for dialogue and to work toward ending Israel’s aggression against Lebanon, liberating our land, freeing our prisoners, and striving to rebuild what has been destroyed by the unjust aggression.”
While reiterating its readiness for dialogue, Hezbollah emphasized that it is willing to discuss a national security strategy — but not while Israel’s aggression against Lebanon continues.
