Death toll in Gaza surpasses 60,000
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 29, the ministry announced that the number of people killed in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, has reached 60,034, while the number of wounded has risen to 145,870.
According to the statement, in the past 24 hours alone, Gaza hospitals have received 113 martyrs and 637 wounded individuals.
Among those killed and injured in the last 24 hours, 22 of the martyrs and 199 of the wounded were targeted by Israeli forces while waiting in line for food at humanitarian aid distribution centers.
The Head of the Network of NGOs in Gaza, in an interview with Al Jazeera, stated that despite Israeli claims about allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, there has been no improvement in the humanitarian situation.
He added that, contrary to the occupiers’ claims of a "humanitarian ceasefire," the number of casualties has not decreased.
He warned that most residents of the Gaza Strip have reached the worst stages of famine, and all children in Gaza are suffering from varying degrees of malnutrition.
