Rumors of explosion at Mashhad airport denied
The Public Relations Office of Khorasan Razavi Airports has denied rumors of an explosion at Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport in Mashhad, clarifying that the smoke seen at the airport was due to the controlled burning of dry weeds around the runway areas.
Mizan -
In a statement issued today (Monday), the Public Relations Office rejected reports circulating on some unofficial media platforms and social networks claiming there had been an explosion at Mashhad’s Shahid Hasheminejad International Airport.
According to the statement, the smoke was the result of a scheduled and controlled weed-burning operation carried out near the runway as part of routine security and international safety requirements.
The announcement emphasized that the operation was conducted under the full supervision of the airport’s safety and fire services and posed no threat whatsoever to passengers, flights, or airport facilities.
