Iran can be an excellent regional ally for Egypt
Hassan Hanizadeh stated in an interview with Mizan: "Egypt is considered an important country in the Arab and Islamic world with a historical background and high geopolitical importance, but over the past 45 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, due to the conclusion of the Camp David agreement between Egypt and the Zionist regime, relations between Tehran and Cairo have undergone a series of ups and downs and reached their lowest level. However, now, given the changes that have taken place in the region, and especially the visit of the Islamic Republic of Iran's President to Cairo and his cordial meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, a more balanced and pleasant atmosphere has been created for improving the level of relations between Tehran and Cairo."
Hanizadeh said: "Egypt is worried about its future and may face military and security issues given the situation in Syria and the potential for carrying out the Zionist regime's plan to forcibly relocate Gazans to Sinai. A sizable dam constructed in Ethiopia that will significantly lessen the inflow of Nile water towards Egypt is one of the numerous schemes being carried out under the direction of the Zionist authority that may generate issues for the Egyptian people. Iran's stance suggests that it might be a powerful ally of Egypt. "
