Israeli army ground operation on Lebanese soil
In a statement released today, the Israeli army announced the conduct of a special ground operation in Lebanon.
The statement said Israeli forces destroyed Hezbollah’s infrastructure and prevented the redeployment of its forces in the area.
According to the report, the “limited ground operation” took place in the Jabal al-Balāṭ and al-Labbūnah areas, where the 300th and 9th Brigades destroyed Hezbollah’s weapons depots and missile launch sites.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that the Israeli army also claimed to have destroyed an underground facility used for weapons storage during an engineering operation conducted by the army brigades.
The statement did not specify the exact timing of the operation’s start.
However, Israel’s Channel 12 television also confirmed the start of a limited ground operation deep inside Lebanese territory today.
Some media sources say the operation began yesterday evening in southern Lebanon.
