Why is the West trying to create a crisis in Syria?
Hosein Khalili - It is indisputable that the Zionist regime and the United States have a grand direction, and that Turkey has played a unique role in causing and sustaining the current Syrian crisis. The three intelligence services mentioned above—MIT, Mossad, and CIA—are attempting to control terrorist organizations' field operations and, as they put it, steer the self-inflicted crisis in Syria in the way they want it to go.
What connects Ankara, Tel Aviv and Washington as the three main factors in the recent crisis in Damascus is exactly this common point: "inability to manage self-made crises"!
Ankara's strategic and miscalculation error concerning the most basic current facts in the region and in the field of international relations is once again in front of us. Erdogan has targeted policies and practices that could soon prove to be the weakest link in his Ankara regime and possibly a long-term source of territorial and national harm for Turkey. Contrary to Erdogan's expectations, new security crises against Turkey will inevitably arise as a result of the Syrian Democratic Forces' (SDF) division of Syrian territory and the US-backed establishment of a Kurdish state in northern Syria.
With a larger scope and a higher coefficient, Erdogan is making the same mistake he did before. Erdogan views himself as a point of gravity and support for the opposition groups' continued existence in Syria and actively backs them. Erdogan, though, is still unaware that he is not a "game maker"! He has been unaware of this "game" for years and will continue to be unaware of it!
In contrast to his expectations, the Turkish president is not a party to the agreement on the Syrian crisis, but he will soon be the focus of the agreement. The territorial and internal security of Turkey is lost in this transregional agreement. The United States is upset about Turkey's backing of the Free Syrian Army against the SDF forces.
Erdogan has been cautioned by CENTCOM and Pentagon officials to stay away from field operations against the SDF and to be aware of his limitations in this situation. The fact that Erdogan has caused the Syrian crisis but lacks the authority to organize his tactical conundrums under the fictitious name "New Syria" is intriguing.
As the primary architects of this perilous situation, Washington and Tel Aviv are also subject to this rule: they have sparked a crisis whose geopolitical and strategic aspect will eventually escape their control.
In the most recent scenario, the West might even have to sacrifice Erdogan, its pawn! The enemies have now presented us with a system and plan that, in spite of its unique complexity and order, will not be finished. It would be better for the operations and think tanks in Washington and Tel Aviv to reexamine the results of the Greater Middle East plan during Bush Jr.'s eight-year presidency.
