Baghaei: The Zionist Regime's attack on Evin Prison is a grave violation of humanitarian law and a clear war crime

Ismail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, published a message on the social platform X regarding the crime committed by the Zionist regime at Evin Prison. He wrote:

 "A few days after the cessation of the Zionist regime’s military aggression against our homeland, new dimensions of Netanyahu’s war crimes in Tehran and other Iranian cities targeted by Israeli attacks are being revealed.

A video of the brutal Israeli assault on the hospital wing of Evin Prison on June 22, 2025, shows families and friends of prisoners who had gathered to visit their loved ones.

They, along with some prison staff and bystanders, were trapped and burned beneath the rubble caused by the bombing: 79 people lost their lives as a result of this ruthless Israeli war crime.

No individual with a conscience can remain silent in the face of such injustice, which is a flagrant violation of humanitarian law and an evident war crime.

This aggressor regime must be firmly condemned and held accountable and punished for the heinous crimes it has committed against the people of Iran."
