Israeli attacks target scientific and medical figures in Gaza

On Friday morning, Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli military has recently targeted and killed a number of the region’s most distinguished scientific and medical professionals.
According to the Quds News Network, among those killed in the latest Israeli strikes are:
- Dr. Omar Farwana, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
- Dr. Adnan Al-Borsh, Head of Orthopedics at Al-Shifa Medical Complex
- Dr. Raafat Labad, Director of the Internal Medicine Hospital
- Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan, Director of the Indonesian Hospital
Over recent months, the Israeli military has repeatedly attacked hospitals, medical centers, and even temporary shelters — often under the pretext of targeting Hamas infrastructure. Facilities such as Al-Shifa Hospital (the largest medical center in Gaza), the Indonesian Hospital, and Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis have all been subjected to bombing, siege, or forced evacuation.
International bodies, including the World Health Organization, have repeatedly warned that targeting medical personnel is not only a grave violation of human rights, but also a major factor contributing to the collapse of the entire healthcare system in Gaza.
