New details emerge on possible Gaza war ceasefire deal

According to Channel 14 of the Israeli regime, citing a political source, any agreement to end the war in Gaza will be accompanied by a message from the United States.
As reported by Al Mayadeen, this political source emphasized that the U.S. message guarantees the occupying regime the right to resume the war if its demands—namely the disarmament of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas and the elimination of its leaders—are not fulfilled.
Another Israeli source confirmed that any ceasefire agreement will come with assurances from the U.S., allowing Israel to restart the war should Hamas not be disarmed and its leadership expelled.
These reports come amid ongoing efforts to reach a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, though details of the exact contents of the U.S. message or the full terms of the potential deal remain unclear.
Meanwhile, Qatar has submitted a new proposal to the Israeli regime aimed at achieving a ceasefire and a prisoner exchange deal in Gaza. The plan includes a 60-day ceasefire, prisoner releases, and an increase in humanitarian aid.
According to Hebrew-language outlet Kan 11, Qatar’s proposal—presented on Tuesday, July 2, 2025—includes:
- A 60-day ceasefire
- The release of 8 Israeli prisoners on the first day
- On the 50th day, the release of 2 more prisoners, along with the return of the bodies of 18 Israelis in three phases
- Israeli military withdrawal to the Morag axis, between Khan Yunis and Rafah in southern Gaza
- A significant increase in humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip
In this context, informed sources report ongoing negotiations over a "major opportunity" to reach a deal, but confirm that key differences remain, especially regarding the terms for ending the war and the extent of the Israeli army's withdrawal from Gaza.
At the same time, Donald Trump released a statement on Wednesday via his social media platform Truth Social, claiming that his representatives held a "lengthy and constructive meeting" with Israeli officials regarding the Gaza war.
As a result, Trump claimed that the Israeli regime has "agreed to the necessary terms for finalizing this ceasefire agreement."
He added: “During these 60 days, we will work with all parties to bring an end to this war.”
Trump also praised the important roles of Qatar and Egypt in advancing the peace talks, noting that both countries will soon present the final proposal to the Palestinian side.
In a direct message to Hamas, Trump warned: “For the sake of the Middle East, I hope Hamas accepts this deal. Because this offer won’t get better—only worse.”
