Israeli political circles: Gaza war continues without purpose

According to Al Jazeera, Yair Lapid, the head of the opposition in the Israeli regime, said: “The cabinet has wasted an entire year without presenting any political initiative to end the war in Gaza. The war continues without any clear direction.”
Yair Golan, head of the so-called “Democrats” party in the Israeli regime, also emphasized: “Instead of losing 134 soldiers over the past year in the Gaza Strip, we could have opted for the option of returning the captives.”
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz, quoting several senior military officials, wrote: “The Gaza war is ineffective, and after two years, there is nothing left that can be used to put pressure on the Hamas movement.”
In this context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister announced that his country is working to advance a 60-day ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, hoping it will lead to the next stage — a final agreement to end the war in Gaza.
