Judiciary spokesman: Zionist attack on Evin Prison has left 71 martyrs so far

In the terrorist and brutal attack by the Zionist regime’s criminal gang on Evin Prison on June 23, 2025, this lawless regime once again demonstrated its lack of commitment to international laws.
In an action contrary to international and humanitarian laws, some of Evin Prison’s buildings, including the medical ward, technical engineering building, visitation hall, and judicial office, were targeted and attacked with projectiles.
In this regard, Asghar Jahangir, the Judiciary Spokesman, announced the number of martyrs from this heinous crime, which pains the heart of every citizen, stating: Unfortunately, in this attack, the Zionists committed a full-fledged crime, and even neighbors living near the visitation hall and judicial office of Evin Prison were severely affected.
Jahangir, noting that the damages inflicted on the prison’s neighbors include significant material and physical harm, said: The Zionist attack on Evin Prison caused extensive financial and physical damage to neighbors near the visitation hall and judicial office. Unfortunately, this attack, which had widespread impacts on ordinary people, has also resulted in martyrs among the neighbors.
The Judiciary Spokesman, regarding the total number of martyrs from the attack on Evin Prison, stated: On the day of the attack, some families had come to Evin for visitation or to follow up on their prisoners’ cases. Unfortunately, the targeted hall was hit by a projectile, and several compatriots present at the location were either injured or martyred.
Jahangir announced the cumulative number of martyrs from the Evin incident as 71 at the time of this report, stating: In the attack on Evin Prison, 71 people, including prison administrative staff, conscript soldiers, convicted prisoners, families of prisoners who had visited for meetings or judicial follow-ups, and neighbors living near the prison, were martyred.
