Araghchi: Grossi’s insistence on visiting Iran’s bombed sites is meaningless

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in response to recent remarks by Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated: The Iranian Parliament has voted to suspend cooperation with the IAEA until the safety and security of our nuclear activities are guaranteed.
He added: This decision is a direct consequence of Rafael Grossi’s regrettable role in concealing the fact that the agency officially closed all past issues a decade ago. With this biased action, he directly paved the way for the adoption of a politically motivated resolution against Iran in the IAEA Board of Governors and also facilitated illegal Israeli and American attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
This senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: Rafael Grossi, in addition, astonishingly and contrary to his professional duties, has refused to explicitly condemn such clear violations of the agency’s safeguards regulations and its statute.
He continued: The IAEA and its Director General bear full responsibility for this abhorrent situation. Grossi’s insistence on visiting the bombed sites under the pretext of safeguards inspections is meaningless and may even have malicious intent.
Araghchi emphasized: Iran reserves the right to take any necessary action to defend its interests, people, and sovereignty.
