Global media reacts to the Supreme Leader’s message

Sky News, in a report referring to Ayatollah Khamenei’s first address following the ceasefire, wrote: “The Leader of Iran stated that the Islamic Republic dealt a harsh blow to the face of the United States.”
The network quoted him as saying: “They attacked our nuclear facilities, which indeed deserves legal pursuit in international courts, but they achieved nothing significant. The Islamic Republic emerged victorious and, in response, delivered a hard slap to the face of America by striking the Al Udeid base, one of the major U.S. bases in the region, and causing damage.”
Sky News also highlighted another part of the speech: “The Zionist regime was almost crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic.”
The BBC website, in its coverage of the speech, wrote: “The Iranian leader asserted that the U.S. military action was never about nuclear issues but aimed at forcing Iran into submission. The leader of Islamic Republic emphasized: One day it’s about human rights, the next it’s about women’s rights, then nuclear issues, and then missiles—but in truth, these are all pretexts. The real goal is to force Iran to surrender.”
The Financial Times, also citing parts of the speech, reported that the Iranian leader deemed U.S. military strikes ineffective and said: “The United States achieved nothing in its attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites, and Trump exaggerated their impact.”
The newspaper quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying: “The Islamic Republic brought the Zionist regime to its knees and crushed it.”
The Supreme Leader’s message, which emphasized Iran’s victory over Israeli aggression and Tehran’s slap to the United States, also resonated in Chinese-language media.
Xinhua News Agency, covering the Leader’s remarks, used the headline: “Ayatollah Khamenei: Iran Slapped the U.S.”
Quoting the Leader, the outlet wrote: “The United States gained nothing from this war, while Iran emerged victorious and delivered a harsh slap to America.”
Xinhua added: “Ayatollah Khamenei said: I congratulate the great nation of Iran—you have defeated Israel.”
Xinlan Zhejiang News Network, quoting China’s national television, reported: “Ayatollah Khamenei told the Iranian people: You have defeated Israel.”
The outlet added that the Leader emphasized: “America’s direct involvement in the war was out of desperation, as it felt that if it didn’t intervene, the Zionist regime would be completely destroyed.”
In line with this, many other Chinese outlets—including the Global Times, China Central Television (CCTV), and Phoenix Television—also gave prominent coverage to the Supreme Leader’s message.
