Coup attempt foiled in Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated: “A coup attempt by traitors to the nation in Armenia has been foiled.”
Quoting the Trend news agency, Pashinyan also detailed the opposition’s plot to overthrow the government and claimed that former Armenian presidents and certain Russian companies were involved in the conspiracy to carry out a coup.
The Prime Minister said that law enforcement agencies had prevented extensive and insidious plots orchestrated by what he called criminal-oligarchic-clerical circles, aimed at destabilizing the country and seizing power.
In its report, the Armenian Investigative Committee stated that the “Sacred Struggle” movement, led by Archbishop Vazgen Galstanyan, has been accused of terrorism and attempting to usurp power.
