Palestinian resistance escalates attacks; Israeli forces suffer major losses

While earlier reports from Israeli media had confirmed the deaths of four Israeli soldiers and injuries to 17 others in a complex ambush in Khan Yunis (southern Gaza), the Israeli army has now acknowledged that a total of seven soldiers — one officer and six others — were killed in the incident.
The Israeli army also admitted that 16 additional troops from the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion were wounded in the ambush carried out by Palestinian resistance fighters in Khan Yunis.
The occupying army reported that seven soldiers were burned to death when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated beside one of their armored engineering vehicles in Khan Yunis, making the recovery of the bodies extremely difficult.
Hebrew-language media described the death of these soldiers in Khan Yunis as one of the most devastating incidents the Israeli army has faced in recent months.
On Tuesday evening, these media outlets also reported that several soldiers had gone missing in the ambush zone in Khan Yunis, prompting the Israeli Air Force to increase aerial operations in the area to evacuate the wounded and search for the missing personnel.
In response, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced via their Telegram channel that they had carried out a complex ambush against a group of occupying forces in Khan Yunis, resulting in the deaths and injuries of all involved.
Al-Qassam stated: “Our fighters targeted a group of Israeli occupation forces inside a house in southern Khan Yunis using a ‘Yasin-105’ anti-tank rocket and RPG mortars, which led to the killing and wounding of all of them.”
These developments in Khan Yunis come as Palestinian resistance operations intensify against the Israeli occupation forces in both the northern and southern regions of the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, also announced on Tuesday that their forces had destroyed an Israeli military vehicle in Khan Yunis using a powerful explosive device.
Earlier, Al-Qassam had also reported the killing of three Israeli soldiers in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, hospital sources in Gaza reported that 35 Palestinians were martyred on Tuesday due to ongoing bombings and attacks by the Israeli regime across different parts of the Gaza Strip. Fifteen of those killed were people waiting in line outside humanitarian aid distribution centers.
This brings the total number of casualties known as the "Bread Martyrs" — individuals killed while trying to receive food aid — to 467, with another 3,602 wounded.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced in its latest statement on Tuesday that from March 18, 2025 until now, the recorded number of martyrs in Gaza has reached 5,759, with 19,807 wounded.
Furthermore, the ministry stated that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the total number of martyrs has risen to 56,077, and the number of wounded to 131,848.
