Iran's representative at Geneva Conference: Israel seeks to drag America into war against Iran

Referring to recent developments in the region, Ali Bahreini, Iran's representative to the United Nations, stated at the UN Disarmament Conference in Geneva: It is clear that the Israeli regime has failed in its military confrontation with Iran, despite enjoying full political, financial, military, and logistical support from the United States and some Western countries, and this is the reason for its desperate attempt to drag America directly into this illegal and aggressive war.
He emphasized: This battle is solely between the Islamic Republic of Iran in exercising its inherent right to legitimate defense and an aggressor regime, and no other country should enter this conflict; From this rostrum, we solemnly warn that any direct US intervention in support of this illegitimate entity will inevitably lead to an escalation of tensions and the spread of the conflict to other countries in the region.
According to Bahreini, in such a case, all US interests and military bases in the region will be considered legitimate targets by our armed forces.
Referring to the country’s official position, the Iranian representative reminded: As the Iranian Foreign Minister has also emphasized, at this critical juncture, the international community must fully understand that Iran is merely defending itself; Iran will continue to exercise its inalienable right to defend itself with pride and determination and will make the aggressor deeply regret its miscalculation and be held fully responsible for its actions.
Bahreini further stated: Iran will continue to defend itself and emphasize its right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy; Nothing can prevent the enjoyment of this legitimate right.
He emphasized: Now that we have entered more than a week since the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and political independence, this regime’s attacks on civilian infrastructure and innocent citizens continue, taking the lives of innocent people; in addition, its repeated attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities have also continued, and this regime, in clear violation of the principles of international law, deliberately targeted the peaceful heavy water facility in Arak; while this regime has used the political and unprofessional report of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency as an excuse to attack Iran, the Director General has clearly stated several times in recent days: “We have no evidence of a systematic effort [by Iran] to obtain nuclear weapons.”
Bahraini stressed: A regime that is not a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) considers itself entitled to launch a military attack on the peaceful nuclear facilities of a country that is a committed member of the treaty; this issue should be considered a serious warning to the international community; such actions pose a serious threat to maintaining international peace and security and should be a cause for deep concern for everyone; giving up nuclear weapons and adhering to the NPT should not lead a non-member regime to launch a military attack with greater boldness on the peaceful facilities of an official member of the treaty; otherwise, such an event would shake the foundations of the non-proliferation regime and seriously question the credibility of international law.
