Guardiola: Seeing what’s happening in Gaza pains my entire body
Pep Guardiola, the renowned football manager and current head coach of Manchester City, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Manchester for his significant contributions to the city over the past nine years.
During the ceremony, he made emotional remarks about the situation in Gaza, stating: “Seeing what’s happening in Gaza is extremely painful. It hurts my entire body. Let me be clear, this has nothing to do with ideology. It’s simply about love for life, caring for your neighbor.”
He continued: “When I see four-year-old boys and girls being killed in hospitals that are no longer hospitals, we might think it doesn’t concern us. But the next time, it could be our own children. Since the night this crime in Gaza began, every morning when I look at my children, I tremble with fear.”
The Spanish coach of Manchester City emphasized: “In a world that constantly tells us we’re too small to make a difference, let’s not forget: our power lies not in scale, but in choice; in not staying silent when it matters.”
