Blood at the breadline; Israeli-backed gangs open fire on Gazans seeking aid
According to the organization, Israel is recruiting local militias and foreign mercenaries to turn humanitarian aid distribution points in Gaza into mass killing zones.
The monitor stated that the Israeli army uses these mercenaries and gang members to carry out tasks aimed at provoking disorder and instability throughout Gaza.
It further added: “Our team has documented that the Israeli army, along with members of an armed gang operating under its orders, directly opened fire on hundreds of civilians.”
The organization reported that civilians were targeted while trying to reach an aid distribution point set up by the occupying regime in western Rafah, resulting in at least 14 civilian deaths.
It also noted that reports were received indicating that some armed individuals wore military uniforms bearing the insignia of the “Palestinian Counter-Terrorism Apparatus.”
The monitor emphasized that these uniforms belong to an armed gang formed by Yasser Abu Shabab, which operates under Israeli army directives and is deployed in areas under its control.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor further stated: “We have received verified information that a Palestinian civilian was killed by a foreign militant working for this entity. As the occupying power, Israel is legally responsible for the actions of the 'Abu Shabab gang' and coordinates with its members.”
