“Deliberate and Deadly”: Israeli strikes target Gaza’s dialysis services
In a new atrocity, the Israeli military targeted the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza.
This center, part of the Indonesian Hospital, provided treatment for over 160 patients with kidney failure and was the only dialysis center in northern Gaza.
According to the Director-General of Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the attack occurred just weeks after the center had reopened following a previous assault.
Images published by the Health Ministry show Israeli bulldozers present at the site.
Reports indicate that 41% of kidney failure patients in Gaza have died during the war due to lack of access to dialysis services and the destruction of specialized facilities.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that the occupying forces are carrying out a dangerous plan aimed at destroying hospitals and specialized medical centers in northern Gaza.
According to the Associated Press, some Gazans are dying without explosions — a grim statistic reveals that over 400 patients, around 40% of all dialysis cases in the region, have died during the 18-month war due to lack of proper treatment.
This includes at least 11 patients who have died since early March, when the Zionist regime completely cut off access for the region’s 2 million residents to food, medical supplies, and fuel.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced in early 2025 that 6 out of 7 dialysis centers in Gaza had been destroyed during the war. Prior to the conflict, Gaza had 182 dialysis machines — it now has only 102, with 27 of them located in the north.
The WHO added that the shortage of equipment is worsened by a complete depletion of kidney medications.
