Gaza food centers turn into death traps for Palestinians
Media sources reported a large explosion near a food distribution center on the Netzarim axis in central Gaza on Thursday morning.
Palestinian media later reported that the site was bombed, though the number of potential casualties from this attack remains unclear.
Prior to this report, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that within the past 48 hours, 9 people were martyred and over 60 others injured due to Israeli army gunfire near aid distribution centers operated by an American company in Rafah.
Some social media users shared an image of one of the injured victims and described how he was transported for treatment, writing: “This is how a person injured by the occupiers’ gunfire is moved. He was trying to reach the American aid center located between Rafah and Khan Younis. These places are not aid distribution centers but rather sites for the killing and elimination of Palestinian youth.”
The Gaza Government Media Office also announced today that the Israeli army has martyred at least 10 hungry civilians and injured 62 others over the past two days at so-called aid distribution centers in Rafah.
Informed sources told Al Jazeera that occupation forces fired on Palestinians at the Al-Alam intersection in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, and one Palestinian was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on the Morag area in northern Rafah.
The Gaza Government Information Office held the Israeli army and its complicit American institute fully responsible for the crime of killing hungry civilians who had gathered for aid in Rafah.
As predicted, food distribution by the U.S.- and Israel-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Gaza began solely to mislead public opinion. As anticipated by the Palestinian side, the announced food distribution centers have turned into “deadly traps” for hungry Palestinian refugees.
