Transfer of an Iranian female prisoner from Iraq to Iran

Askar Jalalian, Deputy for Human Rights and International Affairs and Head of the Committee for the Transfer of Convicts at the Ministry of Justice, in an interview with Mizan News Agency, emphasized the legal and judicial cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
He announced: "In line with the development and expansion of legal and judicial cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, the authorities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq agreed to the transfer of an Iranian female prisoner. With the cooperation of the Judiciary, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and the Marivan Prosecutor's Office, this prisoner was handed over to Iran's judicial and law enforcement authorities at the Bashmaq border on Wednesday."
He added: "This prisoner, under the framework of the agreement on the transfer of convicts between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, will serve the remainder of her sentence in the prisons of her home province after being transferred to Iran."
The Head of the Committee for the Transfer of Convicts at the Ministry of Justice, referring to the upcoming summer holidays and wishing compatriots a pleasant and peaceful trip, stressed: "Dear compatriots should remain vigilant and cautious. While respecting the domestic laws of destination countries and avoiding any legal violations, they should refrain from carrying any kind of psychotropic substances, narcotics, or prohibited pills. They should be alert and strictly avoid transporting or carrying entrusted packages. In case of encountering any suspicious activities at the country's exit borders, they should inform the police and other security authorities to prevent turning the joy of travel into bitterness due to intentional or unintentional crimes."
