From relief to reoccupation: The hidden agenda of Gaza’s aid plan

Amid opposition from international organizations and institutions to Israel’s suspicious plan, backed by the U.S., for limited aid delivery to the Gaza Strip and efforts to draw all residents to the south under the pretext of aid distribution, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated that the proposed aid distribution plan for Gaza, put forward by Israel and supported by Washington, will not succeed. Lazzarini added, “It appears this plan is designed for a military objective, not a humanitarian one.”
Civil society organizations and NGOs in Gaza have stated that no local or international institutions in Gaza are prepared to cooperate with this plan or its aid distribution mechanism, as it is intertwined with security considerations and implies providing food in exchange for security oversight.
These organizations have challenged the role of the U.S.-based “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” and its backers in Israel’s suspicious plan, emphasizing that it serves Israel’s agenda of displacement, ethnic cleansing, and genocide against the Palestinian people.
These institutions praised the ethical, legal, and responsible stance of UNRWA and other international humanitarian organizations that refuse to participate in the occupier’s scheme.
They urged the Palestinian people not to fall into the U.S. trap or submit to the political and security objectives of Israel’s far-right cabinet in exchange for food, warning against being lured into the regime’s notorious detention centers.
Palestinian civil society and NGOs called on American and European institutions, communities, and activists to take legal action against the U.S. entity set to participate in Israel’s plan under the guise of aid distribution in Gaza, accusing it of complicity in the regime’s genocidal war and starvation campaign against Gaza’s residents.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) emphasized that rationing aid in Gaza will not resolve the hunger crisis. The movement called on the international community to pressure Israel’s occupying regime to open Gaza’s crossings to allow aid to enter in a way that ensures delivery to all areas.
The DFLP further noted that distributing aid through U.S. companies is part of a project to gather Gaza’s population in a specific location, aligning with Israel’s security and military plan to expand attacks and occupy Gaza.
U.S.-Israel plan in Gaza will not succeed
In a related report, The Washington Post stated that the humanitarian aid distribution mechanism proposed by Israel, supported by the U.S., and implemented by the U.S.-based Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, faces significant obstacles and doubts about its success.
The newspaper added that humanitarian organizations and potential financial backers have questioned the plan’s viability, raising concerns about whether its true aim is to reoccupy Gaza.
According to the report, some international parties initially involved in planning the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s project have begun distancing themselves, citing ethical concerns about the potential forced displacement of Palestinians under the pretext of providing food aid.
These parties have even compared the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to Blackwater, the U.S. mercenary company implicated in violent crimes against civilians in Iraq.
Citing informed sources, The Washington Post reported that the U.S.-Israel plan in Gaza is shrouded in uncertainty, with major aid organizations yet to join. Arab and European countries expected to fund the project have backed out, raising questions about its financing.
These reports follow international warnings about the dangerous objectives of the deceptive U.S.-Israel plan for limited aid delivery to Gaza, aimed at manipulating public opinion. Concerns include the plan’s intent to draw all Gaza residents to the south, facilitating forced displacement or even a large-scale massacre to annihilate the population.
