Shocking revelations: Israel’s systematic use of Gaza civilians as human shields

According to the Associated Press on Saturday, an Israeli army officer stated: “Every Israeli infantry unit in Gaza used a Palestinian as a human shield to evacuate homes before entering.” One Israeli unit mistakenly killed a Palestinian it was using as a human shield, according to the officer.

Some Zionist soldiers also emphasized that certain Israeli army commanders issue orders to use Palestinians as human shields. Israeli commanders were aware of this practice but turned a blind eye to it.

According to the report, the organization “Breaking the Silence” simultaneously announced that former Israeli soldiers have testified about the use of Palestinians as human shields. Their testimonies are not merely scattered accounts but indicate a systematic failure and moral collapse within the Israeli army.

The organization added: “Israel accuses Hamas of using civilians as human shields, while it engages in the same practice.”

Previously, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz published a confession from a senior Israeli officer about the deliberate use of Palestinian civilians as human shields.

The officer, who participated in Gaza battles for nine months, revealed the targeted use of Palestinian civilians as human shields in the Gaza Strip, stating: “Using Palestinian civilians as human shields in Gaza happened at least six times a day, and field commanders were aware of it, calling it an operational necessity.”

The senior Zionist officer added: “Each military unit had several Palestinian civilians at its disposal to use as human shields, and no Israeli soldier entered a Palestinian home before it was inspected by these Palestinians.”

He noted: “Each military brigade had at least 36 Palestinian civilians used as human shields, effectively creating a secondary division of Palestinian slaves.”

The officer stated: “The Israeli army only investigated six cases, while over a thousand such incidents occurred in the Gaza Strip.”

He further explained: “Using Palestinian civilians as human shields was not only to protect the lives of Zionist soldiers but also because inspecting homes and advancing in this manner was much faster than using robots or drones.”
