Spain’s efforts to Expel the Israel from European sports competitions

The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that the Spanish government has initiated an organized effort to persuade the European Union to exclude the Zionist regime from all continental and international sports events.
According to the outlet, this action is in response to the regime’s continuous crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Pilar Alegría, Spain’s Minister of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, stated that Spain is prepared to work alongside the European Union to begin negotiations regarding Israel’s exclusion from all continental and global sports competitions.
She also emphasized that European countries had previously agreed to exclude Russia from events such as the Paris 2024 Olympics, and now it is time to make a similar decision regarding the Zionist regime.
Alegría called on the International Olympic Committee, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to take proactive measures against the Zionist regime without waiting for political decisions from governments.
Mundo Deportivo further reported that Spain’s Sports Minister has urged all international and European sports organizations to take serious action to penalize Israel for its human rights violations and the extensive massacres committed in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
