Closure of Catalonia’s trade office in Tel Aviv
According to Anadolu Agency, the Catalan regional government stated on Wednesday that, in protest of the Israeli regime’s renewed military assault on the Gaza Strip, it will shut down its trade and investment office in Tel Aviv, which was established 10 years ago.
According to the local government, this decision is largely symbolic, as the office had suspended all its promotional and commercial activities since the onset of the attacks on Gaza and had been operating on a limited basis in recent weeks without political representation.
This move comes as economic and commercial pressures from Western countries against the Israeli regime are increasing in response to the escalation of military operations and the blockade of Gaza.
On Tuesday, the United Kingdom suspended trade negotiations with the Zionist regime, and the European Union announced that it will review its partnership agreement with the regime.
Previously, the UK, France, and Canada had threatened to take specific measures if military operations in Gaza continued.
