World karate champion appointed as head of IRIAF Eagle Team

Farshad Shahyari, holder of 11 world karate medals, has been appointed for a one-year term as the head of the Eagle Karate Team of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) by a decree from the Physical Training Department of the Air Force.

The decree, issued by Colonel Pilot Ali Akbar Andisheh, states:

"Mr. Farshad Shahyari,

You are hereby appointed as the head of the IRIAF Eagle Karate Team. May you, with the help of Almighty God, succeed in promoting and advancing the sport of karate within the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force."
