Takht-Ravanchi: If the U.S. stance is zero enrichment for Iran, it will lead nowhere.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, in response to Mizan regarding recent claims by Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Representative for the Middle East, and Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, about Iran’s enrichment, emphasized that Iran’s stance on enrichment is clear and has been reiterated multiple times. He said: Enrichment is a national achievement for us, accomplished by our own scientists and ongoing for years.
Takht-Ravanchi stressed that Iran will never compromise on enrichment, stating: From the outset, we said that if their position is zero enrichment, it’s obvious that negotiations will go nowhere.
Referring to Iran’s consistent call for negotiations to take place at the negotiating table, he noted that some American counterparts prefer to negotiate through the media. He added: Naturally, we also express our views and state our positions on this matter.
He continued: We have been very clear in expressing our opinions on this issue, and it is completely evident to other parties what we are saying and the reasons we have provided.
In another part of his remarks, Takht-Ravanchi, noting that over the years it has become clear that Iran cannot rely on others, emphasized: We have the capability to do this ourselves, and we have done so based on the country’s needs and will continue to do so.
