Israeli military in crisis: 23.5% jump in suicides in 2024

According to the Palestinian news agency Sama, reports from Zionist circles indicate a marked rise in suicides among Zionist soldiers, predominantly reservists.
The Zionist outlet Shomrim reported that the stories of soldiers and reservists who took their own lives following the onset of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, have largely remained concealed.
According to the report, with the start of 2025, the Zionist regime’s military released statistics on casualties for 2023-2024, revealing a significant increase in suicides among its personnel.
Statistical data shows that in 2024, 21 Zionist soldiers committed suicide, the highest figure since 2011, compared to 17 suicides in 2023, marking a 23.53% increase in suicide incidents among Israeli soldiers.
The data indicates that the majority of those who died by suicide in the past year were reservists. Despite this, the Zionist regime’s military claims the number of suicides is not high, as the number of soldiers recruited since the start of the Gaza war has nearly doubled.
A few days ago, the Zionist newspaper Haaretz published findings from a study conducted by Tel Aviv University, stating that 12% of reservists who fought in Gaza have developed severe psychological disorders.
Haaretz added that these mental health issues among reservists have rendered them unfit for military service within the regime’s army.
The newspaper had previously reported a sixfold increase in mental health disorders among the regime’s soldiers following Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.
According to the report, the number of Zionist soldiers who have contemplated or threatened suicide since October 7, 2023, has surged by 145%.
