Protests against BBC over concealment of Gaza genocide

The demonstration, organized by groups including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), the Palestinian Forum in Britain, and other civil society organizations, saw participants waving Palestinian flags and holding placards with slogans such as “Free Palestine,” “End the Occupation,” and “BBC, Don’t Hide the Genocide,” demanding transparent reporting on the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
Protesters accused the British public broadcaster of “biased coverage,” “ignoring victims’ voices,” and “whitewashing Israel’s actions,” calling for a reformed media approach toward Palestine.
They also displayed images of recent attack victims, particularly children, urging an immediate end to the Gaza blockade and cessation of military operations against civilians.
The rally comes amid growing criticism of Western media’s coverage of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Human rights activists have repeatedly accused the BBC of favoring the Israeli regime and sidelining Palestinian voices.
Recently, the UK-based institute “Declassified UK” reported that the BBC has withheld information about London’s supportive role in Israel’s crimes in Gaza, keeping the public unaware of the true extent of this collaboration.
Peter Reynolds, a British citizen at the protest, said, “The BBC must explain why statistics on Palestinian civilian casualties or reports from international organizations about famine in Gaza are downplayed in its coverage. A media outlet cannot claim neutrality when it selectively reports on humanitarian tragedies.”
Emma Collins, another protester, stated, “We’re here to show that human conscience is still alive. The crimes happening in Gaza are not just a Palestinian issue; they are a matter of humanity. If we stay silent today, tomorrow will be too late. We demand the British government end its military and political support for Israel.”
