Another western country suspends flights to Tel Aviv

Following a ballistic missile strike by Yemen’s army near Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, international airlines announced the extension of their flight suspensions to the occupied territories. This has caused confusion and uncertainty for thousands of Zionists traveling to the occupied territories from various countries.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Spain’s “Iberia Express” airline halted its flights to Tel Aviv following the Ansarallah attack on Ben Gurion Airport and the suspension of flights to the city.
According to information published by the Israeli economic news outlet “Calcalist,” airlines under the Lufthansa Group, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Swiss Air, and the Italian airline “ITA,” have extended their flight suspensions until May 11.
Additionally, United Airlines of the United States has canceled flights to the occupied territories until May 9, and Hungary’s Wizz Air has done so until May 8. Aegean Airlines (Greece), British Airways (UK), Delta (USA), and Ryanair (Ireland) have extended their suspensions until Tuesday, May 6.
As a result of these suspensions, passenger traffic at Ben Gurion Airport has significantly decreased. Reports indicate that the daily number of passengers has dropped from approximately 70,000 at the end of April to about 40,000, reflecting a 42% reduction.
