Arrest of hundreds of Israeli soldiers fleeing service

Israel’s Channel 7 revealed on Tuesday that since the beginning of the current year, 340 soldiers attempting to flee and leave occupied Palestine have been arrested at Ben Gurion Airport.
According to the report, 70 of those arrested were trying to escape while actively serving in the Israeli regime’s army, with the majority belonging to the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community known as the “Haredim.”
Israeli sources did not disclose the identities of the other detained individuals but noted that the army plans to implement a program called “Mercy for Deserters” for one week, allowing deserters to rejoin the army without facing imprisonment.
These sources reported that the plan is currently under discussion among military authorities and is expected to be implemented soon.
