Judiciary Chief’s emphasis on swift and precise judicial handling of the Shahid Rajaei Port Incident

According to the Judiciary’s Media Center, Mohseni Ejei, speaking at the Supreme Council of the Judiciary meeting on Monday, May 5, 2025, offered renewed condolences to the families of the victims of the Shahid Rajaei Port incident.
He noted, “With the cooperation and empathy of the public, and the persistent efforts of rescuers, forces, and officials from various branches, necessary actions to manage the aftermath of the incident at Shahid Rajaei Port were carried out as swiftly as possible. The Attorney General’s Office and Hormozgan Province’s judicial authorities have worked diligently on this matter. Investigations have been conducted, and two individuals have been detained so far. The Forensic Medicine Organization has made commendable efforts to identify the deceased, and compensation has been paid to the families of a significant number of victims. Additionally, approximately 2,600 damaged vehicles have either received compensation or are in the process of receiving it. The process of assessing and compensating for damaged cargo at the port has also begun.”
He reiterated his strong directive to the relevant judicial authorities to pursue, identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for negligence or fault in the incident with utmost precision, diligence, and speed, taking appropriate legal measures once negligence, fault, or potential criminal actions are established.
The Judiciary Chief briefly reviewed the Judiciary’s performance and achievements over the past year, highlighting key areas such as: supporting production and employment by reviving stagnant or semi-closed businesses; protecting public assets and combating land use changes, reclaiming national lands, natural resources, riverbeds, and coastlines; decisively addressing major corruption cases involving high-profile figures and fighting various forms of corruption, particularly economic and financial; diligently handling cases with numerous complainants, prioritizing the restoration of victims’ rights; addressing professional forgers, title usurpers, and those misusing forged signatures of authorities; decisively tackling significant security cases and those linked to the Zionist regime’s intelligence services threatening citizens’ security; addressing elements undermining public psychological security; directly engaging with people’s legal and judicial issues through public meetings, particularly in mosques, and setting up judicial service desks during Friday prayers; rehabilitating and reforming offenders and supporting prisoners’ families; promoting a culture of peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness in disputes, including cases involving the right to retribution; and assisting in the release of prisoners convicted of non-intentional crimes.
In conclusion, Ejei stated, “Given the cognitive and hybrid warfare imposed by the enemy and their relentless efforts to conduct psychological and propaganda operations to demoralize the public and erode the system’s social capital, it is essential to effectively communicate the Judiciary’s commendable actions over the past year to the public through artistic methods, diverse media, and promotional tools. This will significantly enhance public hope and trust in the Judiciary while strengthening deterrence and crime prevention.”
